About Us

Our Vision

Institutions of higher learning will rely upon IAAP members as a Professional, dependable, and reliable resource for selecting faculty.

Our Mission

IAAP is dedicated to being a leader in promoting high standards and providing professional development opportunities for adjuncts in both online and traditional institutions by:

  • Setting professional, values-based and ethical standards of practice for members.
  • Promoting principles, tools and best practices.
  • Providing professional development opportunities.
  • Offering a format which allows for educators and researchers to exchange ideas and create dialogue on difficult topics of concern to the profession of teaching.

Our Values

The IAAP believes that:

  • All institutions of higher learning should value and treat all instructors as professionals who have earned the rights and privilege to be treated as such.
  • All instructors and students benefit from the inclusion of people from all cultural backgrounds.
  • All instructors should have the opportunity for health benefits.
  • In order to have a sustainable world of peace, all people must be treated with dignity and respect.
  • Purveyors of knowledge must be vigilant in obtaining personal and professional development.
  • As professionals we have a social responsibility to our communities, and to the world, to maintain a peaceful and harmonious environment for generations to come.

Our Purpose

The IAAP was formed to fill the need for an association that would represent both online and campus adjuncts. Adjuncts, typically do not receive the health benefits, retirement benefits, and other related benefits enjoyed by full time staff

Adjuncts will now have a place to unite where they can address issues and concerns as well as having a place to collaborate and share ideas, experiences, and resources.

Many adjuncts work for several institutions in order to earn a full time pay check which means they do not have health benefits nor retirement savings from their adjunct positions. One of the many goals for the IAAP is to explore the possibilities of a group health insurance for the members.
